Starting life as a minor side character in the DCI Jack Logan series, the amount of correspondence – positive and negative – I received about Robert Hoon made me realise I was onto something. Before long, most of the emails I got were about Bob, with some people telling me how much they loved him, and an equal number telling me how much they despised him.

So, I went and gave him his own trilogy of books, which quickly became four, then five. The fifth book, STATESIDE, won the 2024 Kindle Storyteller Award, which was nice.
